These are Nebraska Appleseed’s guiding principles, and have been since our non-profit, non-partisan law project started “sowing the seeds of justice” in 1996. Organized by leaders from law, business, academia, and civic organizations, Nebraska Appleseed fills a major gap in our justice system - a means to address problems at their roots - such as, limited access to legal representation, unfair legislation and public policy, and denial of basic rights and opportunities - rather than the symptoms.

In further pursuit of equal justice for all and through the support of generous Nebraskans, Nebraska Appleseed has established the Equal Justice Endowment Fund. Income generated by this fund will support Nebraska Appleseed's work to build better access to the legal system for poor and underrepresented Nebraskans. Through the Equal Justice Fund, Nebraska Appleseed's Board of Directors hope to support our work and to build, among other things, fellowship programs, clerkships, and research devoted to building greater access to the legal system. The Equal Justice Fund will help make Nebraska a leader in ensuring equal justice for all.
